GARDEN CITY PEACE MARATHON

Garden City Peace Marathon 2025,

The Garden City Peace Marathon 2025,, aims to promote peace, unity, and social development through sports.

The marathon seeks to unite individuals across ethnic, cultural, and social divides in Rivers State and beyond under the theme:
'Running for Peace, Unity & Sustainable Development.'

This event also aim   s to promote physical wellness, youth empowerment, and community engagement while showcasing the beauty and hospitality of Port Harcourt City, known as the Garden City.


 OBJECTIVES

• Promote peace, unity, and social harmony in Port Harcourt and Nigeria at large.

• Use sports as a tool for community development and youth empowerment.

• Encourage fitness, wellness, and social inclusion.

• Strengthen partnership between government, private sector, and civil society for peacebuilding.

• Boost local tourism and positive image of Rivers State.

EVENT OVERVIEW

The Port Harcourt Peace Marathon 2025 will feature multiple race categories designed to engage professional athletes, amateurs, families, and organizations. The event will serve as a platform to advocate for peaceful coexistence, healthy living, and social inclusion.

Event Categories:

• Full Marathon (42.2 km) – For elite and professional runners.

• Half Marathon (21 km) – For amateur runners and fitness enthusiasts.

• Peace Run (10 km) – For organizations, youth groups, and NGOs.

• Fun Walk (5 km) – For families, senior citizens, and special participants.


SPONSORSHIP & PARTNERSHIP

Partnership, sponsorship and Collaboration opportunities are available for   government agencies, private organizations, and civil society groups.


Sponsors will receive significant branding, publicity, and CSR visibility throughout the campaign.

• Platinum Sponsor (₦10M+) – Event naming rights, major branding, VIP access.

• Gold Sponsor (₦5M+) – Prominent branding, recognition in media materials.

• Silver Sponsor (₦2M+) – Logo placement on T-shirts, banners, and materials.

SAFETY & SECURITY

Safety and security are top priorities. GODI will collaborate with the Nigeria Police, FRSC, Red Cross, and medical teams. Ambulances and hydration points will be stationed along the route, with comprehensive risk and emergency management plans in place.

• 2nd Place: ₦500,000 + Medal + Gift Pack

• 3rd Place: ₦300,000 + Medal + Certificate
